Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
